Who This Is For
This is for RevolutionEHR practices that already use the Doctora Chrome extension. The extension is your primary integration and keeps working exactly as before. The Windows companion is an optional add-on for when nobody has RevolutionEHR open in Chrome, like overnight, before the first login of the day, or when the front desk is checking the schedule from an iPad.
What It Does (and Does Not Do)
The companion only refreshes your appointment schedule in the background. It does not process charts, pull patient records, read insurance information, or handle intake. All of that stays with the Chrome extension.
Setup
- Pick the computer. Choose one Windows PC that stays on and signed in during the day, usually the front desk. Do the steps below on that PC.
- Install the companion. In Doctora, go to Settings > EHR > Background sync and download the installer. If Windows SmartScreen appears, choose More info, then Run anyway. The publisher shows as Voyista, Inc.
- Pair it. In Doctora, click Add computer to get a six-character code, then type that code into the agent.
- Give it a RevolutionEHR login. In the agent, open Settings > RevolutionEHR and enter a login created for Doctora: username, password, Practice ID, and Location ID. Use a dedicated RevolutionEHR user for this so the companion never signs a staff member out.
- Done. Status shows Syncing after the first refresh. From there, the schedule refreshes each morning before the office opens, and any time you press Refresh.
Status Meanings
- Not set up -- the companion has not been paired yet.
- Waiting for sign-in -- paired, but the RevolutionEHR login has not been entered.
- Syncing -- connected and refreshing the schedule normally.
- Needs sign-in -- the RevolutionEHR login stopped working, usually a changed password.
- Computer offline -- Doctora has not heard from the companion recently; check that the PC is on and signed in.
If the Password Changes
Re-enter the new password in the agent on that same PC, under Settings > RevolutionEHR.
Troubleshooting
If the PC is asleep or signed out, the companion cannot run, so background refresh pauses. This does not affect anything else -- the Chrome extension keeps syncing the schedule and writing chart data exactly as it always has whenever RevolutionEHR is open in Chrome.
